There are going to be some major changes to the menu bars in the next few days in order to accommodate many new menu options for financial content.

Uh-oh.

At least make the new chit a different color, like on IHUB, so we know not to click on it.

Thanks.

And I hope you have teams of clergy and child psychologists standing by to deal with the waves of MBG that will surely follow. MBG is of course, an acronym for Message Board Grief.

What is Message Board Grief?

Seemingly minor changes to a color scheme, a font or even a logo can trigger a series of symptoms that, if left untreated, can spiral out of control.

Who can say how many marriages were ruined when the Motley Fool began to charge for posting? How many lurkers turned to alcohol, drugs or sought refuge in the arms of Russian mail-order "brides" to ease the pain of those first Datek ads?

The clinical literature now recognizes that Message Board Grief manifests in seven stages, much like other kinds of grief. These stages are:

1. Denial (these changes are only temporary)
2. Anger (management are fools!)
3. Bargaining (I'll start my own site)
4. Depression (I'm never posting here again)
5. Grudging Acceptance (all my friends are here)
6. Return with tail between legs (it's still better than Yahoo)
7. Resumption of normal posting (when is earnings?)

Speaking of major changes....have you ever given any thought to a feature indicating that an addressee has read a post addressed to him ?...

Especially with PMs...Have run across situations where I've wondered whether the PM had ever been read..
