Your beliefs about Saddam's army is an opinion. No one knows whether it is true. But the contrary opinion has a lot to recommend it. Remember Saddam's army was commanded by Saddam's officers. And it was used to committing atrocities against the Iraqi people - who do you think filled those hundreds of mass graves. It is quite possible that if we'd kept Saddams army intact, it would have kept the peace the way it always had. After the first massacre, the antiwar folks in this country would be condemning for what you are now saying we should have done.

I don't recall our invading troops having a shortage of ammo or food.

Re the body armor and equipment armoring is being made too much of by critics. The military is a bureaucracy and takes time to adapt.

The one area you can best legitimately criticize the administration is post invasion planning. But the State Dept was as clueless as anyone there.
