On Monday morning's "Bill Bennett's Morning in America" radio show, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) said that there were parts of Baghdad where he and the host could go for a walk.

"There are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through those neighborhoods, today," he said, when asked to highlight something positive about what American forces have been able to accomplish in Iraq.

Earlier in the interview, McCain said that the US is "beginning to succeed in Iraq" and early pull out would result in "unmitigated disaster of incredible proportions," adding that "we will see chaos and genocide in the region and we will be back and they will follow us home."

He went on to compare the war in Iraq to the Vietnam war saying, "The only difference is, remember, the Vietnamese didn't want to follow us home, these guys want to follow us home. ... It's not Iraq they're after, my friend, it's us."

Shiite cops reportedly rampage vs. Sunnis

When they announced this on the evening news tonite, for the first time I heard them say it was another aspect of Iraq's "ongoing civil war". Finally, they are calling a spade a spade. Its this simple comment that clearly demonstrates the power of the White House. For over a year... at least, Iraq has been in a civil war. But every time a journalist has suggested that the sectarian violence was turning into civil war, the White House would vigorously deny that that was happening......over and over and over again. Finally, the media is getting the balls to call it what it is.

Bush and company are like the friends who have overstayed their welcome and don't pick up on the cues that they should leave. If Bush were an honorable man, he would resign.
