Qualcomm's partners will be stopped from selling their wcdma handsets in Europe where they are in the process of possibly dominating the market.

Could you clarify for me why the Q's partners will be stopped from selling WCDMA handsets in Europe. Doesn't each vendor contract with Nokia individually?

Nokia will likely undertake similar actions at the EC

This is a likely scenario regardless of what action the Q takes. The European court system has already confirmed the validity of the Q's IP back in 1999. If the Q continues to abide by the terms of the current contract with Nokia would the EU have grounds to enforce any restrictions?

It appears that the EU seems to await the results of US courts before acting in order to avoid trade disputes. They awaited the US courts decision in the Microsoft case and are not moving forward with Nokia's complaint regarding the Q.
