Interview with Micron CEO Appleton,

EE Times: Are you interested in buying the NOR flash businesses from Intel and STMicroelectronics? Some say Micron should do so.

Appleton: We're not really interested in that. We were in the NOR business, but exited two years back. It's still an important part of wireless and it will have a long life. That also means our pseudo static RAM will have a longer life than we thought. But we can do only so much. We certainty don't see the NOR business having higher growth than our current markets or current products.

EE Times: Do you see buying another DRAM company like Qimonda?

Appleton: If it's available, we'll certainly take a look. At the moment, there isn't anything available.
