I know a lot myself but my expertise is in other areas. Being well educated and knowledgeable makes it easy to separate true knowledge from an act only and rest assured that Ali knows what he talks about. CJ too understood that. Our world isn't always what we would like it to be. Ali had the facts, CJ knows what he would like it to be. I sympathize with both, the man of the ideals as well as the man of the facts.

I don't doubt the scientific background of both...my problem with the exchange is that likely neither of the two are field scientists studying the problem full time...if true, it makes Ali's assertions presumptuous, IMHO. CJ allows that the scientific community is in substantial agreement. His background also allows that conditions exist making the current analysis credible. If so and if there is a point of no (or marginal) return, then the path of safety is to act.

Regardless of the accuracy of these analyses, 1) i don't think for a moment that there is conspiracy as the right would have us believe and 2)this an opportunity....one in which the commercial development of alternative forms of energy is accelerated. I expect an entirely new economic boom based on new forms of energy to result...today alternative energy is attracting lots of VC money in the valley and all over the US...now it's perfectly understandable that the fossil fuel industry will resist...what's your reason?

Al

"CJ knows what he would like it to be."

Nonsense Taro. I am just going by the facts.
