It looks like AMD's stock price is probably due for more downside until Aug. In other words, Intel's marketing doesn't just stop at consumers....i.e. they spend just as much time trying to convince WS that they have the upper edge. Why is it then that almost all major German Hosting Vendors are proudly proclaiming that they use Opterons .. and also show the AMD logos as well. On top of which, there was a full-page Advert in CT (7/2007) from Dell and AMD. Dell explicitly said that their AMD Opteron Servers beat all their other systems on performance and performance/watt ! I just built yet another AMD system for a friend. OK, a Sempron 2800+, AM2 Mobo, 160GB Disk and 512MB RAM - onboard VGA. Total power consumption 53 Watts ! I'm optimistic on AMD in Q3 and Q4 in terms of results. OTOH , it's almost as if AMD wants their stock price to tank. . and am therefore currenty not Long. Notice, they have been very quiet in (not) defending themselves against all the WS pro-intel hype ... most of which I do not believe BTW.
