---> insistence on the extension option

Wouldn't it make sense if they intended to work around some of the fundamental IP (power control for instance) and they just wanted some insurance in place just in case matters didn't transgress as they expected. This might also mean that they might not be all that happy about the development and evolution of HSxPA.

Eric, Could you enlighten me as to Nokia's position in HSxPA intellectual property? Thx

So does NOK have to pay up for that option and if so what is the cost associated with it or did Q leave it as a little mint on the pillow? When agreed upon in 2001 was the option value netted to the then current payments or was it purchasable at a later date not to exceed 4/9/07. My wild guess is that a demanded option granted then had value and that NOK was more concerned with limiting payments at the time. I only ask because most of the talk concerns rights granted by the option and not the financial circumstances surrounding it.
