Prosecutorgate is a major criminal scandal reaching to the depths or heights of the Bush administration's criminal abuse of power. If you don't understand it let me give you a lesson. A new President usually replaces prosecutors when he arrives in office. Fine. But Bush did something no president has ever done, fired and replaced his own appointees once they started either investigating GOP crooks like Duke Cunningham, or not prosecuting democrats who the GOP wanted to defeat in elections, even if the Dem didn't do anything wrong. That is criminal and totally unethical. Also Gonzales lied about it UNDER OATH to congress. So that's a serious crime. Also, the White House conspired to do all of this without congressional oversight which is highly irregular if not illegal and another abuse of power. How would you have liked it if Clinton had replaced Ken Starr with his best buddy? True, Whitewater was a big nothing, but even so, you would have been screaming for Clinton's head. But crooks like Duke Cunningham need to be busted. They are clearly criminals. So why protect them? And why turn the justice department into a mafia-like political division? It defeats the whole concept of America.
