KLP said Gore had said anti-American things. That is the subject. That is what we were talking about. Do you think Gore has been anti-American? I think, as I said, that he is no more anti-American than conservatives who went around lambasting democratic presidents and their policies.

Since I see venom on both sides of the spectrum quite frequently, if I believed as you do, that this is evidence of mental illness, I'd have to believe that quite a few people on the left and the right are mentally ill. I do not think this. I think they are just "religious" about their causes, and have converted what they believe into the classic manichean struggle of good versus evil. Far from being mentally ill, that's actually a very common human failing- one sees it all the time, although it's hard to recognize on one's own side sometimes.

Technically, the president represents all the citizens. Even my congressman, Barney Frank, technically represents me.

But what I find interesting is the notion from the left that "a majority of Americans" are against the president's policies, despite the fact that his policies haven't changed since the election --- which he won by receiving a record number of votes.

The bottom line is that Bush won the election and we are at war

Won the election, yes, but who again is the US at war with? The US may be attempting to help police Iraq, but the US is certainly not at war with any country at the moment. Soon baseball season will begin, then we will have the NBA playoffs, then this year's crop of graduates will finish school, then we will all take summer vacation, and then Cal will begin their quest for the NCAA football championship. Aint no war going on that is going to disrupt all that, unless the Costa Ricans invade El Paso.

jlallen, you are the most cowardly of people.

You constantly punctuate this thread with juvenile posts filled with nonsense. Your only purpose is to irritate others.

Now that your side has lost, is seen as grossly incompetent, is no longer able to steal with impunity from the US Treasury, you are whining about lack of civility. I have always known you to be a jerk. Now I know you as a coward.
