Real problem is that israel is being asked to give all this up on a promise by folks who have been unable to control the crazies. If it were your family what would you do?

It is worth trying to negotiate, even with unrest, to see if an agreement can be reached. Once an agreement is in place, both sides must deliver, or it obviously falls through. I agree that there may always be some security risk due to isolated random crazies, but the Arab population as a whole would have to show great resolve in dealing with them. That would be the proof of their acceptance of the deal.
