I think this 'decapitation' strategy is for the birds. Imagine if we'd killed Hitler and the top Nazis in 1941, but left all the grunts in the Wehrmacht and the SS intact. Would that have worked? No. The only way to win a war is for the enemy - top brass, soldiers and civilians - to know they are utterly defeated. And Americans aren't allowed to fight that kind of war anymore. Only muslims can kill civilians with impunity and no condemnation by other nations or their own population. And that makes conventional war impossible. The unintended consequences of this are not being considered, but it is the situation we find ourselves in.
