Right. Let's look at the resolution.

Much of it has been proven to be false. In most cases, it was based on intelligence that was influenced by the administration.

The nuclear program claims were a bust. Those haven't been mentioned for a while.

Ditto the chemical weapons. Given that the WMD claims made up the major thread of the resolution, it kinda makes the whole thing sort of moot. The links to Al Qaeda have likewise been debunked.

The repression of the citizens gets rather short mention. And nowhere does it talk about bringing democracy to the Iraqi people. And even that is only mentioned in the preamble. When it gets to the meat of the resolution, it isn't one of the listed issues.

But, now, it is the only reason mentioned.
