I'm sure all the Arabs and other oil producers in the region are waking up to the fact that the less stable the region is, the more money they make. We stupidly play right into their hands, by reacting predictably to every provocation.

Bush has been a godsend for them - maybe intentionally? He did KISS the Saudi leader and walk hand in hand with him..

It's a little bit of a risky game, but they know very well that we can't risk total war and lose our oil fix entirely.

If gasoline supplies to Iran are threatened seriously, I think Iran will quickly back down and release the hostages. After all, a cutoff of gasoline would cause serious domestic problems for Iran. This is the fundamental reason to expect oil prices to peak shortly and come back down.

Iran has quite a bit of oil......don't they produce their own gas?
