BTW, I agree with you that we'll make no progress on Objective # 2 until the Oil Administration lead by Bush and Cheney are gone. That means 2009 and beyond.

I'll be very happy if we can accomplish Objective # 1 prior to Bush's departure, though. I think it is doable. All the Democrats have to do is refuse to pass any Iraq spending bill that doesn't have a mandatory withdrawal date attached. I hope they don't cave to Bush's vetos. At the end of the day, Bush needs the money to continue. Dems win by doing nothing or by getting a withdrawal date attached. So Dems have all the cards.

I agree. He's not "pretty" and he is #4 in the race so probably doesn't stand a chance.
