I remember when we all had long hair and some really crazy kid committed suicide.

The radicals made a big deal out of how his Dad had made the snide comment, 'Get a Hair Cut'. That kid had problems, real serious problems that a team of psychologists and a billion dollars in resources couldn't have fixed. He had material problems and legal problems that could not be repaired: teen pregnancy, burglary, busted for drugs, failure to achieve in school, violence with other kids, and on, and on, and on, not to mention that he was a depressed paranoid schizophrenic. But Don would say he killed himself all because he couldn't get his Dad's approval for his hair style. It was all his Dad's fault for liking short hair styles.

Radicals always use the straw as their argument to promote some dumb agenda and deny the truth that comes with a full understanding of circumstance.

If the Brit hostages become some sort of straw that causes the Iranian Camel to collapse, we will be hearing about how the prisoners could have been released with the proper diplomacy and appeasement for the next 50 years, with a dozen conspiracy theories about how their capture in Iran was a CIA plot run by Bush.
