let's see... Bush tried to *increase* oil supply from Alaska.

an increase in supply lowers the price.

if anything, I would think the "environmentalists" blocking
the opening of ANWR are being paid off by the oil companies.

"price-fix"? LOL. oil futures trade on NYMEX and fluctuate
all the time on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis.

so, why didn't the big bad evil oil companies prevent the
oil price from collapsing to $10/barrel in 1998?
