I made a rational argument that if they had, they'd have had problems ruling the country. Thats not enough - you're asking me to prove a negative - that the Brits didn't foment religious hatred. The onus for evidence s/b on the guy saying something happened not the one saying something didn't happen.

If thats not acceptable to you I will simply offer the absence of any evidence to the contrary.
