Micron Tech. upgraded at Robert Baird, shares up in pre-open
Marketwatch - April 02, 2007 8:59 AM ET

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Micron Technology was upgraded to outperform from neutral at Robert Baird, which cited the belief that dynamic random access memory pricing will bottom in May, which would represent a bottom in margins. Analyst Tristan Gerra also expects the memory chip maker's NAND business to generate positive gross margin starting in the fiscal first-quarter of 2008. "Micron shares usually trough a couple months before a gross margin trough is reported by the company," Gerra said in a research note. While Gerra expects estimates for Micron to come down for the next 2 quarters, Gerra believes this is already priced into the stock. The shares were trading up 1.4% at $12.25 in ahead of Monday's open.
