Message 23417396 That's not a thumping. It's a capitulation of 100 years of successful management on the premise that mankind should be apart from nature rather than be a part of it. It's admission that America is better off getting its wood from behind the third world curtain, where they don't have any environmental constraints at all. We had gotten to the point where it took fifteen years to write a ten year plan, and often as not the plan was revised after a year or two, choking on lawsuits. The rules were going to take a step back from that, but now we are run aground. The Forest Service went from a profit fountain to a money drain. I guess people can stop camping out in tree tops now. They won.
