People knock Western medicine, and of course it's far from perfect, but no other approach to health care has anywhere near its success rate in treating all kinds of horrible diseases. It was Western medicine that essentially wiped smallpox and polio off the face of the planet. Those were two diseases that used to kill and cripple hundreds of thousands of people a year. Tuberculosis is well controlled throughout most of the world as well. - Allen
