FYI, I'll be spending some time in the heartland next week. Yep, the infamous Boogerville, MO - home of the US Division of ADVFN Plc. which operates none other than Silicon Investor and Investors Hub. Tuesday will most likely be spent at the new ISP assisting meatloaf in getting a couple of back-end servers back on-line and purring. For those of you who haven't been introduced, meatloaf is our senior (in terms of skills) technogeek:Member 5016729 investorshub.com Following that, a couple of days in the Ivory Tower in rustic (rusting?) downtown Freeman. While there, we'll hopefully anticipate and avoid most of the adverse consequences of 1) relocating the SI servers from the current ISP to the new ISP, and 2) the return of comprehensive investing resources to SI. The equity markets will be closed on Good Friday (although the "good" part remains to be seen), so meatloaf and I will take that opportunity to shut down the SI servers and relocate them to the new ISP. We will post a notice to that effect later in the week. We have an impressive setup at the new ISP, with 4 webservers (3 running iHub now plus SI's webserver to be moved there), redundant database servers, load balancers and power supplies, along with variety of other servers, switches, routers, firewalls and similar jazz. When all is said and done, SI and iHub will be served from all four of the load balanced webservers so that if we have a problem with any one server the other three will pick up the load. It should be transparent to the users although it seems inevitable that there will be some bumps while everything is configured and tweaked. More as the story unfolds......
