Personally, although I am open to the possibility that we will end up with a world like this, I suspect we'll all be fcked then, and it won't matter how the most omniscient people have prepared themselves. I agree with your statement. I do not think we will end up with a world like that, but when very educated people like Jay Chen tell me that gold in a very short time is going to 10K per ounce I get confused. I don't see if he really believes that how he can't also believe its going to be total anarchy and chaos all over the globe. If I wake up in 2 years and gold is 10K per ounce and that is just the "floor", I really don't think many of us are still going to be here. Barbaric governments take the academics to the executions first. Us dumb rednecks may live a little longer. Further, we all know you've raised these rhetorical questions before, and we all know your position on the subject.* I apologize if continued posting on that subject is a waste of thread resources, but Jay never gives me a good answer why if gold goes to 10K per ounce in a short time there will not be soldiers from whatever government sticking guns in his face to take it away from him. Continously he says just buy gold and you will be OK, if gold goes to 10K per ounce and that is the "floor" - there is just no way current laws and property rights will have any meaning. We will all be in an environment like his iraqi taxi driver friend, whoever has the bigger tank will crush your car if they feel like it, gold or no gold. You are right however, he is never going to give me a straight answer and its pointless to keep beating a dead horse. Personally, I think the subject matter is more appropriately discussed on TJ's thread. I will stop discussing gold haording then, El mat has banned me from financial collapse thread because him and Jay were convinced I am Brian H - whoever that is. So much for their powers of deduction. I would use my old account but the cookie that was on my old computer that saved my password is not on my new computer and I don't remember - too many passwords and too many logins all over the internet. I figure SI Bob will show up at some point and help me out when he isn't so busy. These free accounts suck, you can't do a search and can only post 5 times a day.
