A liberal/rad alliance may indeed be the only way to build a serious peace movement today.

But this alliance should also include anti-war conservatives of whom there are more than a few IMHO.

Differences on other issues need to be put aside until this horror is ended.

Also given my cynical reading of human nature, mass support to end the war ASAP might require the populace to experience some real economic pain.

A major bear market and/or a serious recession might do more to end the war than anything the peace movement can do in the near future.

China and Japan must bear major responsibility for all that is happening in the Mideast since their policies have enabled the Bushies to finance the war on the cheap without any financial or economic sacrifice from the American populace to date. China especially should be condemned because that nation suffered Iraq style colonial style aggression from the west and Japan not that long ago.
