"Ignored were certain inconvenient facts such as the amount of body armor that was available under Bill Clinton, which was zero."

Yet another desperate attempt to blame Clinton for Bush's failings. Might as well blame Roosevelt(either one) or Eisenhower.

The fact of the matter is that we have been in Iraq for almost the entire duration we were in WWII. We have far fewer troops to equip than we had in WWII with a far smaller economic base. Now true, in WWII, the troops weren't as well equipped as they are today. But as a percentage of GNP, the cost to equip an individual soldier is likely far less. And we had 7.7 million of them in WWII as compared to ~170k now.

Tim, does it matter that you embarrass yourself. I am just curious how long will you be a slave to your ideology and try to make it right when its wrong.

Ignored were certain inconvenient facts such as the amount of body armor that was available under Bill Clinton, which was zero. Today under President Bush and thanks to Duncan Hunter's work in the Armed Services Committee, which authorized the funds to purchase the body armor, the armed services have one million sets of body armor. That's one million!

Yes, after American soldiers embarrassed Bush et al into providing more armor roughly a year and half after the war had started. What the fukk took them so long, Tim?

It's puzzling to see the media ignore the disastrous cutbacks in our armed services that took place under Bill Clinton, and the extraordinary efforts of the Bush administration and Hunter's committee to beef up our military.

They weren't disastrous until Bush took over and starting invading countries willy nilly. Its all about Bush, Tim. When you understand that your leaders are incompetent, you will stop trying to blame others for their mistakes.
