If McCain really is that way, then he would have tearfully renounced support of the Iraq War...


He's got more probability of getting elected if he sells the idea that he is the guy to "win" the war. Hard to get elected on a platform of "losing" the war (which is how the "anti-war" candidates will be painted), as we are going to see over the next 1 1/2 years.

I think McCain was just too locked in as a Bushie war supporter. He HAD to stick with it. Now, he's reduced to farcically saying Baghdad is safe enough to walk around in, as long as you have the protection of an entire combat brigade..

He's become an unintentional clown.
