It does lead to an interesting scenario though, where there may be fewer stable, revenue generating companies available for the public to invest in. They may all end up in private hands. What will be left will be the risker, more volatile stocks. From a practicial perspective, that does not bode well for foreign investment as it is will more difficult to get information on private companies. So buyouts become more risky.
