Shres,

Ad-aware is designed to the play along the paranoid to keep them paranoid.

Virtually each and every site you visit will issue a cookie which your PC will store.

Ad-aware is like a keystone cop in an Oreo Factory. Every time one passes down the conveyor belt, it yells "I found a cookie!"
The paranoid believe that keystone cop is protecting them, ignoring that them Oreo's are good cookies. Since the paranoid think they found something valuable with that keystone cop, they buy, tell their friends to buy, ect.

The fact of the matter is 99.9% are 100% benign. Cookies can be accessed only by the originating site. Yes they are a few cross-site tracking cookies where the site that does the cookie accessing is not displaying page site.

Sites like Yahoo, SI ,S101, Google, and even you Investment House use cookies that store items such as your 'last read msg nbr', 'what your view preference is', etc. In fact, most users would not be happy how the internet would work if these little data files, containing preferences and such, did not exist.
