Re....BZP & GLBL meeting Momentum Band status. Thanks for your response to mine and his dogginess's query on these two stocks. Regarding BZP's qualifications, your negative answer included the following....

>>>>Where the momentum band strategy comes into play, is if price can rise 20% in the coming two weeks, or less.<<<<

Clearly, I had misinterpreted your prior descriptions of the strategy, concluding that one would enter the strategy at the breakout level, as you have described this stage. I now see that you consider the MB strategy merely as an addendum to a different strategy which one would exercise at the point of breakout. This is what I get for not thoroughly studying your total presentations at your Strictly Buy & Sell web site, which I have been shamelessly lurking at sporadically.

However, I believe I have stumbled onto a modified version of both these strategies that simplifies the qualifying conditions, and so far has been amazingly successful for me.

I practise the MB strategy from the point of a breakout which meets your stated conditions...>>>1. Price must be breaking out to a recent price high on above average volume. I prefer above average volume to be at least 50% above average. The more the better!<<<<

I consider when I have bought it at that point that I am in the MB status, and that I will practice the MB strategy for selling the stock in order to protect myself against large losses. The main point being that I am using the 20,1 Bollinger Bands as the boundary limits signals for both the buy and the sell points. I'm unclear what your dictates are for selling during this phase of the move, before it reaches the 2 week, 20% MB status...seems the MB strategy should work here also.

I try to select stocks which have exhibited long "above the band" runs in the past 6 months or a year previously, and have found there to be no shortage of such stocks, at least in today's markets. I am playing the long side and am limiting my portfolio to no more than 6 stocks, which has proved me in good stead for the instances that I have to sell and enables me to enter another qualifying trade almost immediately.

The simplicity, AND SAFETY, of this strategy is what I like about it. Playing it with reasonable discipline....limiting losses, and letting the gains run to the maximum, I believe will be very profitable for me...with FAR less worry and stress over when and whether to take an action. I may be disappointed in the results, but it seems to me that they should come close to equalling your experiences with these strategies.

Dabum, your generous teachings to this and your board are virtually unequalled in my experience...you deserve our highest praise for it.

One other thing OT,....you mentioned on your site that you were suffering Arthritis in your shoulder....apparently you have joined my club if it is Osteoarthritis....shoulder, back, knee, you name it, I'm virtually a charter member. May I repay you for what I have learned about T/A from you by referring you to a book titled "The Arthritis Cure" written by Jason Theodosakis, M.D., M.S., M.p.h., and others. I bought and read it in '97, and by following his program, I found unbelievable relief from my afflictions...albeit you need to give it time...a few weeks, before you feel the difference. I'm currently casting cement stepping stones in my yard using sackcrete, shovel, wheelbarrow, and trowel....my OsteoA talks to me a little, but so far it hasn't put this old near-80 codger down yet.

Hope you benefit from it, my friend...Semper Fi.
