Let me see we've apparently held an innocent Iranian for two months now. I say apparently because he is suddenly set free. How is that any different than what the Iranians are doing? Do you still want to start a war over this incident?

Iranian diplomat released; new photo of British sailors published

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — An Iranian diplomat seized two months ago in Iraq by uniformed gunmen has been freed — a move that suggested progress Tuesday in British efforts to win the freedom of 15 sailors and marines held by Iran.

Neither British, U.S. nor Iraqi officials would say if the release of diplomat Jalal Sharafi was linked directly to Britain's efforts to gain its sailors' release. Britain has publicly sworn not to negotiate. And the signals from Iran grew less clear when the Fars news agency issued a new picture of British sailors, an apparent breach of the understanding that no more such photographs would be published.

You're not kidding. Not only that, but while Bush and Cheney obsess over Iraq, the US is falling behind in almost every major indicator of our former economic dominance. What complete morons. I wish we could impeach them now. Check this article out...

Europe tops US in stock market value

You have no idea how much this bothers me. It goes to show you the difference a good leader makes. On almost any metric, we are falling behind other countries. Worse.........there is a global vacuum left by American leadership that is being filled by other countries. Its hard to believe we could have fallen so far so fast.

In the meantime, one of the biggest headlines in the US.....who is Dannielynn's dad. Its disgusting.

The reaction by a rightwing blog to the news? Its a joke. Laughing and calling them the dim bulbs of Europe....they are saying the next thing the EU will do is ban all artificial light.......only natural light will be acceptable. Its an attitude problem that has been developing in the right over time.....they are anti progress.

Europe to Ban the Bulb

Posted by WSJ.com Staff

Incandescent light bulbs should be illegal on the European Union market by mid-2009, a European Commission spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires.

Through new, stringent energy-efficiency requirements, the light bulbs will be effectively banned in Europe’s 27 countries, according to Commission energy spokesman Ferran Tarradellas. “We will impose energy efficient requirements that will effectively put incandescent bulbs out of the market,” he said.

Governments and retailers around the world, including Wal-Mart, have been encouraging the use of compact-fluorescent bulbs, which burn much less energy than standard incandescent bulbs.

Compact fluorescents have trace amounts of mercury, raising some worries that their improper disposal could harm the environment; though it’s possible more mercury might be released from a coal-fired plant powering a traditional bulb.
