I don't want to argue too much against the upward spike in oil prices. I have been reloading my energy baskets the past few weeks.

they could have carried this melodrama alot longer and kept crude at levels that would have shot beyond $75 within a week. Think of the millions of barrels they export each day; their coffers would have been swelled to a degree that would have made the mullahs cream in their gowns.

I'm no expert on this, but I don't think the producers get daily prices for oil. For aught we know, they are fully contracted for already. It would be nice if we could see what Iran actually contracts their crude at through such a period of a few weeks to see what, if any effect there is. Perhaps some on this board might know?
