One reason that I am aware of for the removal of the SI Guys was a space constraint in the top strap which precluded having the logo, guys, banner ad, and search fields within a 1024 wide footprint. Clearly space is not an issue for premium users since there is no banner ad for them. Equally clear is that the top strap does not reflect what will be the final layout for premium users. As I mentioned in another post on one of the "SI" boards, there are going to be some market indexes included in the top strap for premium users but that has not been included yet for technical reasons. I was rather taken aback the first time I saw the Guys missing and cannot say if the SI Guys will be returned to the free and/or premium top straps, but everyone can rest assured that your comments will be shared with the appropriate persons.
