I think the truth is, no one KNOWS whether there's a God, whether there's an afterlife, whether this is ALL there is or not. I think no one knows for sure what it is but some people intuit that there is something beyond this life, and others have had experiences that must be called supernatural and that suggest there is something. That's the basis for religion.......a solid basis at that......but unfortunately there are idiots who twist and turn the religious tracts to fit their own personal agenda. One can find a lot of that in the evangelical community.
