Good point. But the bottom line is that I'm not Ugandan. I am American and American boys are dying in Iraq in larger numbers than is necessary because Iran is interested in destabilizing Iraq and is supporting the insurgency with sophisticated weapons to do so. As a result, I want our military in Iraq to disrupt Iran's meddling in any way possible. If that means arresting and detaining so-called Iranian diplomats who aid the insurgency, then so be it. Of course, there are consequences, such as stepped up kidnapping efforts by Iran, as we just saw.

However, honestly, I think the kidnapping of the 15 British soldiers is bad PR for Iran. I think they came off looking bad to most everyone, except for maybe the Middle East Muslims. But it isn't Middle East Muslims who determine what happens in the UN Security Council. Iran just hurt its own cause and all they got out of it was the release of 1 Iranian Revolutionary Guards member, oops, I mean Diplomat.
