"I'm going to have to act like a Korean citizen with only a rudimentary knowledge of "Engrish." ;-)"

Tell 'em you're from NORTH Korea and you'll be a true celebrity! Those commie surrender monkeys will probably send a hooker up to your hotel room!

But I hear they treat American tourists rather rudely.

In Paris they actually treat anybody not from France rather rudely. Go to Rome.
Or if it has to be France, go to Bretagne and further down along the coast to La Rochelle. Great places, friendly French people (no that isn't an oxymoron!).

Ted, > Is that the best you can do?

There was never a point during my lifetime when America was particularly loved by the world.

By the way, I can't wait to visit Paris next month. But I hear they treat American tourists rather rudely. I'm going to have to act like a Korean citizen with only a rudimentary knowledge of "Engrish." ;-)

Which is better being put down or laughed at behind your back......you will have to decide. ;-)

Are you just going to Paris or other places? Ignore the French and enjoy the food and the ambience. You'll be happy to hear that even if you eat like a pig, and it ain't hard with French food, you will probably lose weight from walking around so much. If you are staying in France the whole time, rent a car and go down the Loire Valley.......there are great inns, wineries and bed and breakfasts all along the Loire River.
