"has come under criticism" "Embraces Terror State", etc.

So... we can ASSUME that you are ALSO 'criticizing' the THREE Republican legislators who went to Syria just a few days ahead of the Speaker, too... Right Floppy?

(And, by logical extension, I guess if you are claiming that anytime someone TALKS with the leaders of an 'enemy' or 'unfriendly' State, they are "embracing" them... then when Reagan talked to Gorby as President he was "embracing" an enemy? Or even when he had contacts with the Iranians before his election, he was "embracing" them too?)

Seems like a Hell of a lot of "embracing" going on in diplomatic circles. :-)

"Syria has been in a self-proclaimed "state of emergency" since 1963, which it uses to justify arbitrary arrests and detentions without trial. The state restricts freedom of speech, the press and assembly and outlaws political opposition."

Syria's "State of emergency" - sort of sounds like our never ending "War on Terror".

Bush has used the word terrorist to Suspend Habeas Corpus, rendition to torture, run secret prisons, run unfair trials, use abusive interrogation techniques, too disrespect the laws of war and indefinitely imprison. Thats not mentioning spying on Americans and using the legal system to attack political foes.

It could just be me and my liberal sensibilities but I find it almost laughable the way Bush thinks he can abuse human rights and yet criticize others.

Thank God the likes of Pelosi are rendering incompetent Bush and that thug Cheney quickly irrelevant.
