Yawn...you refered to me as a "libber" again. I'm tired of lecturing you on twentieth century conservative thought, from Goldwater through Reagan and on. You think you and your fellow travelers are somehow the pinnacle of conservative belief. Not so. As a true western conservative, I wouldn't care if Laura Bush smokes. It's not illegal and its a personal choice. I would not call Congress back into session to pass a special law because I felt that a husband and wife's decision about her life choices (which had already been reviewed by a State court with jurisdiction) needed to be overturned by my greater judgement. Oh, did I mix Terry Schaivo up with Laura Bush's right to smoke? Well, same principle applies. But I know you supported the acts of the President and the Republican congress to pass a piece of personally targeted legislation aimed at Schaivo...which I, and most traditional conservatives, think was deplorable. Tom Delay supported that piece of crud legislation, so I can't call him a conservative, even though he wants to claim the mantle. He spent way too much money to earn the title. So, Pro, you are the activist on Schaivo, and on other social causes. You don't believe in fiscal restraint (cause you support the crazy spending president and republican congress), you don't mind massive debt, you liked the huge new programs the President introduced (Medicare Part D, No Child Left Behind).....so just who is the conservative, my "libber" friend?
