Got this from the ERIC thread on Yahoo.

Nothing quite like timing.... Tony "The Tiger" works behind the scenes (conceding God knows what) to get his butt-smokin' Kindergarden class set free, while "LaLa" Pelosi declares herself Secretary of State and takes up negotiations with rogue nations.

This is EXACTLY what we need. The Islamic extremists RESPECT weakness and this sort of posturing will DEFINITELY bring results....just not those that were hoped for.

North Korea next?

I don't know what Assad's story is but I do know he was educated in either the US or the UK, and was very reluctant to take over his father's position. When he took over Syria, there was an opportunity to open some kind of dialogue with him but we didn't.

What this latest experience with the Iranians shows us......is that they are much more sensitive to world opinion than the US is under Bush.........certainly more sensitive than the Syrians. We really need to be working on our Iranian relationship. There are opportunities.......an Iranian/Syrian alliance is not a natural one. We could, with some work, come between them. In the end, both sides would benefit big time.
