That sounds like you plan to use the advertising space for free members for another purpose for paid/grandfathered members.

That is correct.

Can you make the dark taskbar dynamic so the 3 of the 8 that have the highest rank in moving n day average clicks display with 2 points larger type, or some other dynamically displayed format triggered by and reflecting popular usage? Or place those 3 in the center and make them larger?

Please don't tempt Meatloaf. That's exactly the kind of project that would be immensely fun and time-consuming and have little to no ROI. Heck, now that you've put the idea in my head, I could very well end up doing it in a separate dev environment just for the fun of it rather than unwinding with Sudoku's at night while ignoring the outside work that I've been busily neglecting.

I would bet money that the menu straps will see changes here and there down the road. We need to have these new content items on the site and we need them viewable and reachable, but we're paying attention to the feedback that's deserving of the attention and continue to tweak accordingly. And most of the feedback is deserving of the attention. We're only dismissing the "Waa! It's change! You guys suck for changing things!" kind.

It's common knowledge that on websites, especially message board sites, which have far more concentrated usage and usage patterns than other sites, any change is going to ruffle feathers, no matter what it is. We could start sending money to everyone and there would be loud objections to our doing so because it's different than what we've always been doing. Nature of the game and being avid message-board users ourselves (otherwise we wouldn't do this for a living) we can relate so though change is necessary, we're really trying to make it as palatable as possible.

We discussed the navigation menus here and Meatloaf is going to invert the Nav bars so they appear in the following order:

Search
Finance
Message Boards

Can you make the dark taskbar dynamic so the 3 of the 8 that have the highest rank in moving n day average clicks display with 2 points larger type, or some other dynamically displayed format triggered by and reflecting popular usage?

We considered a more simplistic dynamic approach of using a random number generator to decide the order, size, and color of the links within each menu bar on every page view. That way everyone gets it more or less their way sooner or later. <vbg>

Other than changing the order of the menu bars we are going to leave it alone for awhile but will certainly consider other changes a bit down the road.
