Slag, and what's hilarious is that we are supposed to admire "natives" and their barbarisms. And what's sillier is descendants of various natives around the world dressing up in silly outfits, prancing around campfires and chanting stupid incantations to sundry family spirits. It's the 21st century for God'- sake. They should put their pants on and stop making like chimpanzees. Everywhere on Earth, women had far more children than necessary to keep the world populated so they had to die en masse by the four horses of the apocalypse. And if that wasn't enough, ceremonial or even unceremonial death was handy to keep the numbers down. Genocidal war was an essential ingredient of the system. Paradoxically, today there are more humans than ever, but less need for such population control [outside Africa and some Malthusian places]. Mqurice
