It's a really difficult balancing act. The Saudis appear to be moving farther from the Bush admin... something that hasn't happened in many 'diplomatic' years.

The stability that has been nurtured over many admins, both Rep and Dem, seems to be eroding


Actually, you are being kind.....the erosion is palpable. The King's statement that we are participating in an illegal occupation is a very clear break in relations. At this point, Bush is so beleagured its better for him not to discuss it publicly......it just adds to the amunition being lobbed against him.

We may soon find out what its like to be an island.
