Pelosi’s Criminal Acts

I am not about to call for Pelosi to be charged or go on trial, but there is a strong case for those who do want to do so. Personally I think it would give too much credibility to her. The WSJ has a good article out on the history of the law that applies and why Pelosi is definitely in violation of the law. opinionjournal.com

But consider this statement by Albert Gallatin, the future Secretary of the Treasury under President Thomas Jefferson, who was wary of centralized government: “it would be extremely improper for a member of this House to enter into any correspondence with the French Republic . . . As we are not at war with France, an offence of this kind would not be high treason, yet it would be as criminal an act, as if we were at war.” Indeed, the offense is greater when the usurpation of the president’s constitutional authority is done by a member of the legislature–all the more so by a Speaker of the House–because it violates not just statutory law but constitutes a usurpation of the powers of a separate branch and a breach of the oath of office Ms. Pelosi took to support the Constitution.

To best understand this violation picture Cheney establishing “trials” to dispel justice, or having him create a “legislative committee” to create laws. Cheney would be lambasted for these unconstitutional acts. And so should Pelosi. The problem is the fawning Liberal media is not giving her the thrashing she deserves in terms of her usurping of the constitution. So I understand why some may call for her to be charged in order to force the press to face reality and communicate the issue to America. And maybe it will have to be that way. But Pelosi’s screw ups with Isreal and Syria and her alliance with Assad are only the tip of her misteps.
