The Lunatic Fringe Element of the GOP party, such as billy-bob-jimbo thompson of SI "fame", will no doubt howl in protest if Rudy gets nominated. In all likelihood he will, since the majority of the GOP constituents will recognize that some dramatic shift from the Atavistic GWB is required. However, such is the damage that the GWB cabale has done to the GOP, that NO candidate will save the GOP from self-destruction. Unfortunate that there'll be no opposition to the Dems. It's not good for democracy. But, that's the cost of denaturing the poison party.
