True, but that's now. Watch what happens with the price of oil being as it is. Cooking oil is going up in price along with crude oil. Plus cultural norms shift and do so quickly sometimes.

If everyone moves to a warm climate, stops breeding, goes troppo, eats vegetarian or close to it, lives in cyberspace, walks or rides a Segway or electronic vehicle, the demand for oil would collapse.

But oil is so cheap that that won't happen just because of oil prices [to much extent]. There is a LOT of oil and the Greenhouse Effect is a good effect. Good for plants and good for us because it reduces the likelihood of a sudden dive back into the ice age in which we are stuck.
