I'm afraid our own convictions may be our undoing.

I hope not.

Your post makes A LOT of sense, however I hope its wrong as to Mexicans, as my wife and I are intending to move to Las Cruces New Mexico where we will become THE MINORITY, ie Spanish, mostly Mexican, represent 52% of the population in the last Census. I cant say this for sure, but in my visits there over past 3 years I think there is a difference between illegal immigrants and land owning peoples. Las Cruces was part of MEXICO until the GADSEN PURCHASE and I met many Spanish Americans that owned their property from LAND GRANTS going back to Mexico. (IMHO Spanish hardly ever give up their land, just stays in the family forever). Incidentally, the Las Cruces area had MORE SOLDIERS on the BATAAN DEATH MARCH then ANY other city in the USA. Huge statue there to commenorate them. jdn
