Engineer!
Why are you always so angry?
By the way.I know as much about this things(cellular,CDMA technology,BLER,vocoders,powercontrol,signalling...) than you do if not more.I spend 50-60 hours a week on it and has been doing it for over 20 years,Do you? Or was it 10 years ago or more since you actually did something technical?
By the way.I ask the thread again.Name one non-american technology that has been accepted as a dominating standard in the US.I can probably name 100 american technologies that are dominating in Europe and other places.I think you owe it before you say that Europe has more protectionism than US.It's just to read all the posts on this thread to understand how deeply protectionism, patriotism and America first is rooted in some americans.Don't believe for a moment that is common in many other countries and definitly not in many European countries.I have lived in the US for many years and also in a couple of European countries so I have something to compare with. When Europe selected GSM as a standard there where no IS-95 so that was not an option. But if IS-95 at that time would have been as established as GSM was when the American companies selected IS-95 then I think there would have been a big chance that IS-95 would have been selected in Europe as well.
