the equivalent of chimpanzee power

I just found an example of the equivalent of chimppower.
An example that clearly proves my contention that our conventional generals know nothing about unconventional warfare and counter insurgencies.

While searching for a bit of info, I came across these quotes.

I also found some indications that the whack-a-mole tactic may have been this general's idea.
According to info I've found on-line, Lieutenant General (3 star) Metz is now Deputy Commanding General of US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). That is scary.

If victory and defeat in war are defined by politics. If our goal in Iraq is to free the citizens from oppression and provide them with an alternative to anarchy, why would a senior American General ever state that winning over that same population to our thinking is not vital to success?
And how can that same general, who clearly missed the mark in his projection of battlefield success, because he failed to see the insurgency or underestimated its strength in 2004, now be training our new warriors with an opportunity to mold them in his own image.
uw

“[I] don’t think we will put much energy into trying the old saying, ‘win the hearts and minds’. I don’t look at it as one of the metrics of success."
~ LTG Thomas F. Metz

And this quote...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 9, 2004 – The hunt for insurgents and terrorists in Fallujah continues "with speed, not haste," a top U.S. commander in Iraq said today.
Army Lt. Gen. Thomas F. Metz met with the Pentagon press corps through a video feed from Baghdad. Metz commands Multinational Corps Iraq, and reports directly to Army Gen. George W. Casey Jr., who commands Multinational Force Iraq.

"We are operating according to our plan, and so far we have achieved our objectives on or ahead of schedule, not only in Fallujah, but also across Iraq," the general said.
