Go silent into the night, don't rage against the dying of the light.

Welcome to the future. It's a no-brainer.

Harrison Bergeron

The future of America - This is the relevant clip from Vonneguts Harrison Bergeron. Notice a young Howie Mandel is cast as the tv show host for a bunch of mindless brain dead viewers:

In my youth as a network engineer - cache and memory were not so critical a thing - as long as you could route around the points of failure - if you cached those routing tables though - things were limited you know by the memory and cache you had - the aggregate memory of humanity ensures we will never rise above a certain level of civilization. Anna nicoles egg has dominated the airwaves - brittney jumping off a building would give at least 2-3 months of coverage!

When howie mandel got top ratings for deal or no deal, exactly as the movie showed - I started laughing uncontrollably - HAAH HAHAH AHAHAHA HAHAHAH! Just too funny!!

Is it just me Max 90? Or is Harrison Bergeron starring howie mandel as a useless gameshow host and howie mandell hosting a dumb game show in real life with top ratings just too ironic? Unlike the movie, I feel we don't have anyone brave enough to go on deal or no deal and shoot themselves - it's over Max 90, get on the stupid bench with the rest of us and enjoy the show.

i am close to going silent.

Please don't - the more who keep talking and trying and doing something, the better the chance that the darkness won't overtake the culture or planet, etc.

Yes it's dangerous... but I'm sure you can recall many other quotes like this that apply:

"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."
-- Samuel Adams

ineptitude in Congress

Forgive my disrespect Max 90, but it says you are 65 in your profile, a senior citizen, its time to sit down and take life easy and pass the torch. You have more than done your duty, sit down on the stupid bench next to shades and watch some mindless sitcoms! Here I will give you a link.

Comedy Central got nothing on these guys, click the links below and roll in laughter while drinking your sam adams beer. It is the funniest thing I have seen all year - they ask Pace and Gates why there are so many contractors, what is the deal with Aegis and thier staffing issues, why do soldiers have to buy their own combat equipment, why navy personnel are being reassigned to do army missions and drive trucks at army bases, where is all the money going, what is wrong with gauntanamo, why are we paying contractors 4 times what we pay GI JOE, why are officers quitting because they can't get bonuses, what specifically does the section "OTHER" funding mean and where is that money going - etc etc etc - unfrigginbelievable - I laughed so hard I shot milk out my nose - gates and pace start sweating bullets at points - they need to take lessons from steve liesman as far as lipsticking pig, haven't quite mastered the art like that old dawg. Its a disaster for gates and pace I fear, Cspan will have to leave the airwaves before long, with entertainment like this people might actually start watching this stuff instead of American Idol.
