Well worth reading, even though it is rather old now. The Belgians were about the worst colonials in Africa. IIRC, they say Congo had about 100 college educated blacks when the Belgians gave them independence. Talk about screwing a country and giving them nothing in return.

Since you are interested in Africa, may I suggest a few other books:

The Washing of the Spears, by an American D. Morris primarily about the Zulus, but it gives much interesting history of S. Africa. See here:
