really, as you prolly know/knew, the only part of your post I agree with....will it bring the intended consequences you expressed...possibly....but the unintended may not be what you might expect which are more likely...

the problem, as I see it, for you would be this: once the Israeli's initiated a pre-emptive strike ( whether it be Hez in s. leb that would go way beyond
" measured"....which is what you may be thinking/wishing--i dunno--- or a direct
decapitation or Iran's nuke dreams, the US would be involved, certainly in the latter because of the retaliatory nature of the Iranian response ).

In the meantime, we are left with this low level blood letting on both sides.

IMO, the dynamics will change in the ME if and only when anyone of the various lit powder kegs explode.

largely, that's the only way dynamics change in the ME with the glaring exception of the courageous Sadat's initiative...which cost him his life by his iwn.
